Therapy
for deep,
lasting change.
Welcome, my name is Dr. Gregory Devore.
I am a licensed psychologist who helps individuals and couples who desire deep personal and relational growth.
Many people come to therapy feeling conflicted with their emotions, avoidance, or relationship patterns, as if these are problems to be eliminated. In our work together, we recognize that these patterns once made sense as intelligent ways of surviving pain. We honor what they’ve done for you, while gently building the safety needed to let them soften and make room for new ways of living.
My practice.
My generalist practice focuses on healing many forms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Although I have expertise in treating specific diagnoses such as PTSD, OCD, or ADHD, my approach emphasizes you as a whole person, not just a label.
Together, we look beneath symptoms to understand what’s actually driving distress. You can expect a collaborative and emotionally safe space where you feel heard and understood, but also thoughtfully challenged. We will move beyond "talking about" your problems and toward "working through" them, using both insight and the practical tools to integrate real, lasting change into your life.
The Six Attachment Needs
A map for moving from protection to connection.
My approach is grounded in a simple but powerful reality: lasting change requires more than insight. It requires a nervous system that feels safe enough to reorganize and heal.
Drawing from modern neuroscience, trauma research, attachment theory, and contemplative practices, I’ve developed an integrative approach that creates the biological conditions for real change. This framework, which I call The Six Attachment Needs, forms the basis of my upcoming book.
Together, we focus on meeting six core needs:
Safety, Acknowledgement, Understanding, Clarity, Comfort, and Space.
When these needs are consistently met, the brain and body can shift out of distress and protection and into states of integration, resilience, and genuine connection.
If you are curious or ready to work together, email or call me for a free 20-minute telephone consultation.
"Emotions are signals pointing to core needs that, when met, restore balance and foster connection."
